ORIGIN

SAL began on the water — noticing how wind, movement, and changing conditions shape the way things feel. What followed naturally extended to what was worn before and after: clothing made to feel right, to last, and to move in rhythm with that environment. Rooted in coastal places, SAL carries the calm that comes after movement, wherever it is worn.

Those experiences took many forms — kitesurfing, wingsurfing, foiling, windsurfing, stand-up paddling, sailing — all shaped by wind, surface, and timing. Many of the places where these moments happened would later become the starting point for SAL editions.

SAL takes its name from salt and sun, and from the environments that leave their mark quietly, over time.

FROM EXPERIENCE TO CLOTHING

On the water, comfort is instinctive — you know immediately what feels right and what does not. That awareness carries beyond the activity itself, shaping a sensitivity to proportion, weight, and ease.

At SAL, clothing is approached with the same restraint. Materials are chosen for how they feel, how they settle with wear, and how quietly they become part of daily life. Design decisions are guided less by trend than by intuition — favouring pieces that remain relevant because they are worn often, not because they announce themselves.

This way of working allows SAL to move at its own pace. Rather than seasonal collections, garments are created in small editions shaped by place and mood. Once an edition is finished, it becomes part of the SAL archive — with the intention that fewer pieces, chosen well, become lasting companions.

THE MATERIALS

EVERYWHERE

While SAL is rooted in coastal life, it is designed for everywhere.

The pieces move easily from ocean settings to cities, from travel to everyday routines. They do not signal a sport or an activity, but a way of being — calm, attentive, and connected to nature even when far from it.

SAL is for those who carry that sensibility with them, wherever they are.
